Our group sessions run for approximately one hour. That time includes warm up, exercise session and cool downs. We offer 2 and 3 day a week and unlimited visits group sessions, including a Saturday community class were we all train and learn new skills together. There are many different times to choose from, with more times on the way. We offer early morning sessions to late evening sessions. If you don’t see a time that works with your schedule please contact us as we may have a small group that you could join. If you want a specific time that is not listed you can get some (4+) of your friends together and have your own training time. While we also offer personal training, the group classes are usually more fun as you train with the same people most days. The group classes also lead to a better training response and more accountability from our clients as everyone works together to reach their goals. When signing up for our classes, you are not confined to one particular session. You are able to come in at the time that is best for you.
We also train children from ages 9 and up. We work on movement, body weight and kettlebells to improve children’s fitness. We are not teaching sports specific skills, i.e. throwing kicking etc. we are building the strength foundation that is required to do well as an athlete. There is an epidemic of sports related injuries in children these days. There are several reasons for these injuries to be occurring at an earlier age. They occur because our children do not have the proper base of technique or strength upon which to add sports specific skills. ACL and elbow injuries are on an upswing due to year round play and poor general conditioning. It is time to go back to the basics and build mobility, stability and strength as the base. You would not build a house without a solid foundation, why build an athlete without one? If a bad foundation is laid it is not if the house will collapse, but when it will collapse. We cannot guarantee that your child will be the next Tony Romo or Nastia Liukin, but we can tell you that they will be a better, more durable athlete. We teach children in small groups, but it is not a “one size fits all” approach. We use Gray Cook’s Functional Movement Screen to identify what is the limiting factor in each child. We then use those findings along with the strength and conditioning methods of Pavel and the RKC to build the foundation of strength and durability. We truly work to make the children “Strong for a Lifetime.” If you have any questions or would like to attend one of our programs for free, please fill out the form below.
Free Kettlebell Orientation Class
Interested in kettlebells but still not sure where to start? Come to our free kettlebell orientation. Orientation is required before participating in any of our classes for your safety and so that you get the most out of the class. This also gives you a quick introduction and a taste of how our classes are different. The orientation also helps you determine if our classes are for you! The orientation class is usually held on the 1st or 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:15am. During this orientation we will teach you the fundamental kettlebell exercises including the deadlift, swing and turkish getup. This is required so that you will be able to jump right into your first day of kettlebell class without being lost or confused and to safely execute the exercises we are performing.
What is Primal Move?
Primal Move is a game-based, play-oriented approach to the art and science of enhancing your movement skill. The Primal Move system—with its deep roots both in modern science and the most revered of the ancient “body culture” disciplines—provides you a dynamic new way to effectively retrain your body to reclaim its natural ability to move with elegance, strength, power and speed. Added benefits often include: improved endurance, a reduction or removal of pain, greater energy and a radically improved sense of overall well being.
Primal Move helps puts the joy back into your exercise program—when injury, imbalances, aging or other set backs have made “working out” a painful struggle rather than a natural source of pleasure. If you are interested in being part of the cutting edge of movement, Primal Move is it – not only is it a stand alone system, but it is easy to integrate into your own training, instruction and/or sport specific training immediately. Progressions and regressions make it accessible to all ages and levels of ability, while games make it the most fun you and your students will have had in a long time! While not a current stand alone class. Primal Move has become an integral part of our training philosophy and tool kit. There are elements added to our entire spectrum of offerings. We occasionally hold Primal Move sessions when students request it.
